Southeast Lake County Activist & Candidate Training

Brand new to politics or looking to hone your skills? Interesting in becoming the leader of your block, neighborhood, or precinct and ensuring the right candidates win in the upcoming elections? Ready to get involved and work on a campaign...or already involved and looking to become more effective? Ready to throw your hat in the ring as a candidate to lead your community forward?
Come out and take part in a day of training in your area by experts from the Leadership Institute, a national conservative training organization that has trained more than 123,000 activists and leaders since being founded in 1979 by Morton Blackwell.
The training is sponsored by URF Action & Illinois Review, hosted by the North Shore Republicans & Lake County Young Republicans. The training will take place Saturday, July 13th at Trinity International University. Cost is $30 for activists, running from 9a-1p, and $40 for candidates, running from 9a-4p. Topics covered include:

- Activists & Candidates: Getting Involved in Your Community & With Local Organizations/Campaigns
- Activists & Candidates: How to Hold Elected Officials Accountable

- Candidates: How to Communicate Effectively
- Candidates: Developing a Winning Campaign Plan
Expert trainers will guide attendees through these important topics, providing instruction, information, and examples. This training is intended for both beginners and more experienced individuals, though beginners should be prepared to take a lot of notes. Attendees will be given resources for continued learning and access to experts for continued advice. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to network with their fellow activists and candidates from the area, growing their network and strengthening their team. Finally, attendees will have opportunities to have their questions answered and get one-on-one guidance.
