Southeast High School Class of '87 Reunion Casual Dinner and 80's DJ Party

Join your fellow classmates for an evening of fun and memories during our 30-year Reunion Weekend MAIN EVENT! We've planned an evening of dining, dancing to the '80's with live DJ, and sharing memories! Dinner will be catered by the Hyatt Chefs in the spectacular "Boathouse" private venue overlooking Sarasota Bay. The paid ticket is ONLY for the dinner portion from 6:30 to 8:00 PM of the evening plans. Otherwise, the event is free and open to everyone without cover charge. To kick off the evening, plan on gathering and mingling with friends and classmates starting at 5:30 PM in the hotel's main lobby bar area. The ticketed dinner is from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM in the Hyatt Boathouse. From 8:00 PM until late, the doors will open to welcome anyone who can't join us for dinner. There will be a full liquor private cash bar available the entire evening. We'll enjoy a live DJ, sponsored by your reunion committee members, spinning all your favorite 80's tunes until late. We will have a photographer, also sponsored by your committee, capturing the memories to be shared with all. Of course, we'll also have a "Sharing Memories and Class Video Table " where everyone is encouraged to bring memorabilia, photos, and other items you would enjoy sharing.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

All you forever-young looking ones may want to bring your ID's ... just in case "you get carded! "Bring your "fake ID" just for fun!

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We are encouraging local guests to drink and drive responsibly. Consider ridesharing, designated drivers, or getting a room for the night if you plan on partying. There is plenty of parking at and around the Hyatt. Valet available, if you choose, at your expense.

What should I bring to the event?

Tons of Memories! Great Attitude! Your spouse or significant other! Memorabilia! Huge smiles! Lots of hugs and handshakes to share! Pictures of your kids, grands, and furry kids!

What should I NOT bring to the event?

Outside food or drink! White Pleather Band Shoes! Bad Attitude! Final Net! (Yes, sorry, Color Guard and Cheerleaders!) 30-year old grudges! Parachute Pants! Predjudices! The Polar Cup Van! Intolerances! Neon Jellies! Us vs. Them mindsets! Max Headroom!

What's the refund policy?

No refunds. We will work with anyone who would like to gift or sell their reservation to another classmate on a case by case basis.

Is there a discount to buy my ticket(s) early?

Yes. Tickets purchased prior to July 8th, 2017 are $65.00 per person. Ticket purchased after July 8th, 2017 and at the door will be $80.00 per person.

Why is there a service charge to purchase the ticket?

Your committee recognized that using a third party reservation, ticketing, and payment service is the easiest, safest, and most efficient means to collect the funds and manage the guest list. "Ain't nothing free in life!"

Why is there a charge for dinner?

Again, "Ain't nothing free in life!" Your planning committee has worked tirelessly to provide the most activities and opportunities inclusive of everyone at the lowest cost! Every event of the reunion is open to EVERYONE! Of course, eating, drinking, and staffing a venue are never free. Thus, the dinner portion of the evening is ticketed and there will be a full cash bar available supplied by the venue. Several of your classmates have made donations out of their own pockets to help secure the venue at far below market rate, sponsor the DJ, sponsor the photographer, supply decorations, and such to keep the event as inexpensive as possible. We will recognize all the generous donors the night of the event. If you would like to help underwrite the general expenses, please let the committee know.

Can I come if I don't choose to purchase a ticket?

Yes. Please join us for the evening beginning at 8:00 PM in the Boathouse when the doors open to general attendance. Additionally, you are welcome to join any of the various free events throughout the weekend. Please consult the schedule of events.

Will the DJ take requests?

Maybe. He'll try to accommodate. We will be posting a "Request List" on the class Facebook post in the coming days. We will supply all the requests to the DJ in advance of the event.

What is the recommended attire for the evening?

The event is casual attire and up. Come as you are most comfortable to mix and mingle with friends, new and old.
