Description

Come learn more about Sunshine Enterprises and the work we do. We find and recruit aspiring and new entrepreneurs in order to train and equip them for success.

For Questions please contact: 312-868-0040 ext. 7 OR recruitment@sunshineenterprises.com

Through the Community Business Academy, we teach not only business principles such as finance, marketing, and accounting; we also work with marketplace coaches and trainers--experts in their fields--matching them with local entrepreneurs to develop sustainable growth strategies that lead to revenue and increased sales.

Our goal is growing businesses in struggling communities to create better economic opportunity. Come find out how to apply.

More than Basic Business Training:

Sunshine Enterprises takes a comprehensive approach to help businesses grow and become sustainable. We focus on entrepreneurs in low-income communities seeking to start or grow a business. All those accepted into the program receive a $3,000 grant toward tuition costs. Our program offers the following:

  • Small Business Lab – a unique environment where you gain hands-on experience in running a business under real world conditions.
  • Exclusive networking opportunities with some of Chicago’s top business and industry leaders.
  • Small Business Support Team – a group of specialists that serve as volunteer staff, providing assistance with key business strategies, such as:
  • effective marketing
  • accounting and finance
  • legal issues

What Our Alumni Say:

" The Community Business Academy provides support in our business ventures!"

- Jessica Willis, Swaggerless Studios, CBA Fall 2018

" [The Community Business Academy provided] The leadership of the instructors and the opportunity to network with a variety of people in the real estate industry".

-Salithia Graham, CBA Fall 2018

"My books are more balanced and I believe that it's given me more confidence to go out and talk to people more because I have a better focus of what I'm doing. I'm not all over the place like I was. The focus is helping me realize what my niche is, and go out there and make that step."

- Jittaun Davis, Something Creative by JT, CBA Spring 2014

"Success isn't owned, it's leased and rent is due everyday." Sunshine's collaborative environment has been empowering for Neticia as she connects with other entrepreneurs such as Hecky Powell, owner of Hecky's BBQ in Evanston.

- Neticia Blunt, TishBars, CBA Fall 2015

(Click here to read more about her story.)

"I have a lot of experience with publishing, but I don't really have experience as a businessperson. The CBA really took you back to the basics of every aspect of running a business, and I did have a couple of 'aha' moments."

- Donna Beasley, Kazoom Digital Publishing, CBA Fall 2014

(Click here to read more about her story.)

"I know education, but the business side was totally foreign to me. This class has helped me to put my business priorities in order and to really think of the larger impact of every decision I make. It forces me to really do my research before I make a move."

- Tamara Stewart-Hadaway, Kingsway Preparatory School, CBA Fall 2015
