Join us for a full day of learning new skills, best practices, and the nuts-and-bolts of how to campaign and run for office.

About this Event

Run Women Run's Political Boot Camp is for anyone interested in getting involved in the political process from volunteering or working on a campaign to running for office yourself.

Hear from elected officials and experts in the field, and network with others committed to achieving equal representation.

Featuring Keynote Speaker, National City Mayor Alejandra Sotelo-Solis.

$25 for Run Women Run Members

$35 for Non-Members (*includes membership for the year!)

$10 for Students

Each ticket includes breakfast, lunch, and a hosted reception.

8:45 - 9:45 AM: Getting on the Ballot, Fundraising and Key Compliance Issues

Find out what you need to know about the qualifications to run for office, getting your name on the ballot, and important ethical considerations. This panel also explains aspects of fundraising and campaign finance law.

9:45 - 10:45: Words of Wisdom from Elected Women

Elected officials will share their most important lessons learned and words of wisdom from running their own campaigns.

10:45 AM - 11:45 AM: Party Support and Endorsements

This session explains the process of getting political party and organizational endorsements, why these endorsements are important, and how they can be leveraged to promote your campaign

12:45 PM - 1:00 PM: Bio break

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Crafting your Message - - Stump Speeches and Connecting with Voters

This presentation will explore how to brand your candidacy, target supporters and persuadable voters, and develop your message. It will explain how polling and direct voter contact can be used to identify key issues and refine your core campaign message.

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Media Training -- Using Media to Deliver your Message to Voters

This presentation will focus on how to use television, print media, social media, and capitalize on earned media to deliver your messages persuasively and cost-effectively.

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Best Practices for Running a Grassroots Field Campaign

Learn strategies for developing an effective voter contact plan. From identifying the optimal voter universe to tactics for getting “yes” votes at the door to creative volunteer recruitment strategies, this session will provide an overview how to run a comprehensive campaign field operation.

4:00 PM - 4:15 PM: Closing Remarks from RWR
