**Update* as of 9/26/19 our group camp site is now full. We are not allowed any more RV's or trailers in the site. There is first come first served camping for RV's, trailers, and tents at the main campground but we are now at capacity for the group site.


South Coast Bike Festival is a weekend celebration of riding bikes and exploring the stunning scenery of the South Coast and the town of Port Orford. The weekend includes both scheduled rides & activities with time for you to explore the area on your own.

Saturday's rides include mountain & fat bikes and activities that can be enjoyed on any type of bike.
Sunday's ride is considered a “road ride” although all bike types are welcome.

The South Coast Bike Festival is Oregon Ride's final event of the season, bringing together all types of cycling enthusiasts to enjoy a weekend on the Southern Coast with camping, bike riding, beach activities, scheduled rides, parties, bonfires, and local beer! We hope you can join us. Our motto for the weekend is #BringAllTheBikes

Saturday, September 28, 2019

10AM Fat Bike and Mountain Bike Trail Ride at Cape Blanco led by local bike club WRCMBA.
Location: Meet at the Lighthouse at Cape Blanco State Park.

11AM “Scenic Scavenger Hunt.”
Explore the breathtaking scenery and cute town of Port Orford by bike! The Scenic Scavenger Hunt will take you around some of the most breathtaking views in Port Orford as well as hidden gems in the town. All bike types welcome, but Fat Bikes will have bonus ride time on the beach.
Location: Battle Rock Park & Visitors Center

There will also be a “Street Fair” happening in Port Orford from 10-2PM and riders are encouraged to stop in and enjoy food, drinks, and music.

5-7PM Fat Bike Beach party (everyone is welcome):
If you don’t have a Fat Bike you can rent one (see below) or just come down to the beach and enjoy the fun activities, food, beer & bonfire.

  • Race Ride w/ obstacles from Cape Blanco to Elk River & back
  • Bunny hop contest
  • Limbo contest
  • Slow Race
  • Smallest Circle competition
  • Track stand competition

Wild Rivers Coast Scenic Bike Ride (Coast Health Ride for Life)

7:30AM Check In & Registration

9AM Wild Rivers Coast Scenic Ride begins for Full & Medium Ride
Option 1: Full Ride 61+ miles
Option 2: Medium Ride 44 miles

12PM Wild Rivers Coast Scenic Ride begins for Short Ride
Option 3: Short Ride 7 miles begins

Option to drive yourself to the Salmon Hatchery and do only the Elk River section of the ride which is a total of 22.5 miles out & back.

1-5PM After ride party
Enjoy taco’s, beer, music, and raffle after the ride.

*Note: the Wild Rivers Coast Scenic Bikeway is a beautiful ride along some of the Southern Oregon Coast’s most breathtaking sites. You are not on a separated bike path. You will be riding with some traffic (although very light) as this is a road ride. All rides are an out and back and will have rest areas with light snacks & hydration mechanical support, SAG, and radio communications support along the way.

Rest stops;
Elk River Salmon Hatchery - restroom, light snacks, hydration, & radio communications.
Butler Bar - restroom, light snacks, hydration, & radio communications.
Cape Blanco Lighthouse - restroom, light snacks, hydration, & radio communications.


Tickets & Prices:

Full weekend Festival Pass; includes Welcome Party Friday evening, Saturday bike activities (guided mountain bike ride, beach riding, Port Orford scenic scavenger hunt by bike, Beach party at Cape Blanco, & Sunday Wild Rivers Coast bike ride & after party).
$65 per person

Saturday Activities only: Saturday Fat bike activities to include guided mountain bike ride, beach riding, Port Orford scenic scavenger hunt by bike, & Beach party at Cape Blanco.
$45 per person

Sunday Full & Medium Ride & party only: Sunday Wild Rivers Coast bike ride & after party. Ticket includes a taco & beer ticket & a raffle ticket. Additional food & beverages can be purchased.
$45 per person.

Sunday Short Ride & party only: Sunday 7 mile short ride which begins at noon, after party. Ticket includes a taco & beer ticket & a raffle ticket. Additional food & beverages can be purchased.
$20 per person.

Camping: We have the Group camp site reserved at Cape Blanco State Park from Friday, September 27th - Monday the 30th. There are no hook ups and space is limited to 24 vehicles and 50 people. There are 3 porta potties in the group camp but main campground restrooms & showers are a short walk away. There are picnic tables & running water in group camp but no hook ups for RV’s. There is a limit to how many RV’s are allowed and space is limited so please specify your type of camping.
Registration to stay in campground is an additional fee and is per person and includes 1 vehicle per group (if registering a family, only 1 car is included for entire family). Check in time is 4PM on Friday and check out is 1PM on Monday. Just follow the signs to the Group Camp Site (see map). See below for registration costs.

WHERE DO I PARK?

If your are camping at Cape Blanco you can park in the group camp site. If you are just coming to ride for the day, you can park in designated "Day Use" parking. For Saturday only, you can park at Battle Rock Park and Vistor Center, For Sunday only, you can park at ride start. See maps.

CAN MY FAMILY & FRIENDS JOIN ME AT THE EVENT?

This will be a family friendly event and most parts of the event can have families join in; scenic scavenger hunt, street festival, beach party and after ride party on Sunday. There will be additional food and beverages available for purchase.

WILL THERE BE FOOD OR DRINKS AVAILABLE?

Friday Welcome Party will have a welcome beverage.

Saturday street fair will have food & beverages available for purchase. Saturday bonfire & beach party will have beer and brats and families can purchase additional food if they join in.

Sunday will have light snacks at rest areas and water. The after party will have taco & a beer included in your ticket and can purchase additional food & beverages.

How does the camping work?

We have reserved the group camp site at Cape Blanco State Park for the event. You can check in on Friday at 4PM and we have the space until Monday at 1PM. You will need to pay $10 per person to reserve your spot with us at the group camp (on Eventbrite registration). We are only allowed 50 people & 24 vehicles in the group camp spot so 1 vehicle is allowed per family reservation. They only allow a limited amount of RV's in the group camp site as well so you will need to specify what type of camping you are doing and call Event Director (see below) if the capacity is reached. The group camp site has no electricity and no hook ups. There is potable water for drinking and plenty of room for tents. There are 3 porta potties in the group site and a close walk to the toilets and showers in the park. You will need to be self sufficient for your own camping food & supplies.
