Mindfulness and the Spiritual Brain: Tools for Recovery
What is the healthy state of the mind when it is not in "action" in its unhealthy pursuit of addiction? This workshop helps to reshape the work of the therapist in helping clients find the tools for recovery. Mindfulness is a hot topic in psychological workshops but do we know how to be in this state of mind and how to help clients find and use mindfulness as a means of creating new neural pathways? The workshop will include several mindful meditations which help the therapist have their own process to still the mind. The workshop will explore the formation of the ego mind and how it naturally leads the individual away from the frontal lobe activity that is natural state of the mindful state. Participants will also learn the concept of the True Self and the process of living from an inside-out fashion which leads to the process of mindfulness as a practice of this sense of self. The last part of the workshop helps the clinician in understanding their role in helping the client find recovery through Mindfulness and developing the Spiritual Brain.
