Description

Join us for our monthly First Friday Lunch and LEED education series! We will be focusing on LEED v4 content throughout the year - typically with LEED specific CEU credits, and often AIA LU credits as well. Check your local Community website to see the full list of topics planned for the remainder of 2017.

Our October online Lunch & LEED will be October 6, 2017 at 11:15 am CST / 12:15 pm EST.

Construction Waste Management in LEED, GBCI: 0920002669. 1 hour LEED specific CE for BD+C, and Green Associate.

About:

Waste is a big part of the environmental impact of our buildings. In 2003, 170 million tons of construction and demolition waste were generated in the US and, of that, 61% from nonresidential construction projects. This 300 level course that will provide you with tools and resources to effectively manage the construction and demolition waste on your project in order to meet LEED requirements. This course is geared to contractors but will benefit anyone wanting to learn about this credit.

Although this course does not require knowledge of the credit, you may experience a better learning outcome if you review the credits beforehand. You can find the prerequisite here and the credit here.

Objectives:

  1. Develop a LEED-compliant construction and demolition waste management plan
  2. Implement construction and demolition waste management strategies on a LEED project
  3. Determine LEED-appropriate waste diversion strategies for your project
  4. Anticipate construction and demolition waste management challenges on your LEED project
  5. Produce LEED-compliant documentation for construction and demolition waste management

General Information:

Please note: If you would like continuing education credit for attendance, you must register Individually (non-registered viewers of the WebEx will not be able to report attendance), and you will need to include your GBCI number in the order form. An event password will be emailed to all registered participants in your confirmation and reminder emails.

For the best experience, please plan to be in front of your computer to see the presentation as well as hear the audio! The presentation may not work well on some mobile devices.
