South Buffalo and the entire Buffalo/Niagara region have been hit hard in recent years by depression-related deaths. Suicide and accidental overdoses have unfortunately become increasingly prevailant. We encourage friends and family members who have lost loved ones too soon (for any reason) to walk and remember them in their own way.
The primary objective of this event is to raise awareness and let everyone currently affected by depression/addiction know their community supports them in their battle. With this in mind, we ask the entire community to take part in this walk, bring your children, and stand up for those amongst us who may currently be going through difficult times.
The 1.5 mile walk will begin at 11 am.
Check in for the walk will start at 9am - 10:30am.
The walk will be FREE for everyone. There is a suggested donation of $5-$10 for each adult walker (completely optional.) A commemorative walk t-shirt will be included for each individual donation of $15 or more.
All proceeds from the event will be distributed to Mental Health Groups chosen by South Buffalo families who have lost loved ones to depression-related deaths or accidental overdoses.
Online registration closes at midnight May 6th. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk during the check-in times listed above at the Registration table. Walk donations are accepted until May 3rd.
Theme Basket Auction
Local business from Buffalo and its surrounding region have graciously donated items and baskets for our cause.
Tickets will be available for purchase before, during, and after the walk. A winners board will be placed in front of each row to identify all winners. Winners may pick up their items after ticket confirmation.
