SOUTH BAY HOSPITAL TO OPEN NEW TOWER TO ACCOMMODATE COMMUNITY GROWTH
In an effort to address a growing number of patients with serious medical needs, South Bay Hospital will unveil its new 30,900-square-foot Patient Tower during a public grand opening event on Dec. 2.
The expansion will feature private rooms, a 14-bed Progressive Care Unit and 12 additional intensive care beds.
With the average patient age between 75 and 85 years old, South Bay Hospital admits many patients who require lengthy hospital stays and specialized care. The new facility will help the hospital serve more critically ill and injured patients in Sun City Center and surrounding SouthShore, Riverview and Parrish communities, which are expected to gain half a million residents over the next 10 years.
Sharon Roush, CEO of South Bay Hospital, will speak at the grand opening. The event is free, open to the public, and will include facility tours. Refreshments will be provided.
