About this event
Join Battery Park City Authority for a public hearing on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the South Battery Park City Resiliency Project.
Given the level of interest in the project we are expanding the hearing to three hours, concluding at 9 pm.
About the Project
The Battery Park City Authority (BPCA) has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) analyzing the potential environmental impacts of the proposed South Battery Park City Resiliency Project. In response to the devastating impact of Superstorm Sandy in Lower Manhattan and in anticipation of future severe storm activity related to global climate change, the SBPCR Project has been developed by the BPCA as an integrated coastal flood risk management project in Lower Manhattan.
As part of the SEQRA process, BPCA has made the South Battery Park City Resiliency Project DEIS available for public review and comment; you may access the DEIS at bpca.ny.gov/nature-and-sustainability/resiliency/.
We want to hear from you!
BPCA is hosting a virtual public hearing on May 19, 2022, at 6 PM. The hearing is part of the public comment period for the DEIS, which starts on May 5, 2022, and ends on June 3, 2022.
During this meeting, BPCA will give a brief overview of the DEIS before allowing registered participants to share up to 3 minutes of testimony.
