SOUND/VISION: The Found Sound Sessions

Overview

A collaborative and avantgarde performance - the culmination of Redfishsounds' residency at The Co Lab

A Celebration at The Co Lab

As we come to the end of our time at The Co Lab, we’re marking the moment with a series of events celebrating the incredible creativity that’s filled this space - supported by the brilliant artists, makers, and dreamers of Leighton Buzzard.

On Friday 21st, join us for The Found Sound Collective, performing a one-of-a-kind sound and vision event featuring instruments crafted by Redfishsounds - mostly built from discarded, unwanted, and found materials from the old Wilko site. Expect strange, beautiful noises, experimental textures, an avant-garde choir, and Spoken Word to carry it all into new sonic territory.

Also performing will be Martyn Simpson, showcasing his collection of weird and wonderful mechanical instruments (you might remember his mind-bending workshop at The Co Lab a few months ago).

In response to the experimental soundscape, live visual artists will create and project evolving visuals throughout the night - turning the space into a living, breathing canvas of sound and vision.

Come celebrate the spirit of The Co Lab - creative, experimental, and community-powered.

Friday 21st at The Co Lab, Leighton Buzzard

More about The Found Sound Collective

Featuring Johnny McSixlegs, Pandora Box, “Eggs” Benedict and Zephyr Brick, the Found Sound Collective performs spontaneous, textural improvisations on instruments crafted from reclaimed materials by @Redfishsounds during a South Side Studios sound-art residency at The Co Lab.

Transforming discarded objects into rich sonic worlds, the ensemble celebrates creativity, renewal, and the beauty of the discarded and forgotten.
