Description

EIGHT WEEK TERM FEB 7th – MAR 28th, WED EVES 7-9PM

'It's a great big swinging thang of a choir and great fun.' - 'Good for the soul' - 'Thoroughly addicted!'

‘It’s become the highlight of my week!’ ‘If you’re looking for a great-fun but laid-back choir, try this one.’

Heather Macleod of The Bevvy Sisters will lead the choir and you can join with no previous experience or audition. The repertoire will cover many styles and be taught by ear so there is no requirement to read music.

It’s mainly about having fun and releasing that inner voice and also to enjoy exciting opportunities to perform and share what we’ve been singing.

The Soundhouse Choir has enjoyed a subscription of no less than 75 singers since Heather formed it last year. You are now warmly invited to join us in our exciting second year, in which we look forward to singing in two of Edinburgh’s most notable concert halls. We’re delighted to embrace these amazing opportunities! We hope you can add your voice!

Firstly, in March we have been invited by Love Music Community Choir to sing at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on Monday 12th March. They are the largest community choir in the UK with 300 members! Alongside them and several other Edinburgh choirs, we’ll stage a one-night-only festival of community singing by amassing a chorus of around 500 voices!

Furthermore, we are more than delighted to announce Edinburgh Queens Hall’s support for us in inviting us to have our final concert of the year there on Thursday 28th June with The Bevvy Sisters. This concert will continue the work with the professional vocal harmony group that we first shared at our gorgeous concert at Greyfriars Kirk at the end of our first year. (see a snippet here)

‘We’re really looking forward to hosting the Soundhouse Choir this year and to enjoy their fabulous repertoire of vocal music.’ David Heavenor, Development Manager

Of course, even if you can’t make it or would rather not participate in the performances, it’s the process of learning and singing with the choir that is the best bit!

We hope to see you for Term 5.

The term costs £40* and is payable in full.

If you need further information please email Heather at heathermacleod@hotmail.co.uk

*fees are non-refundable

*we will accept late-comers to the term but will only accept payment for the whole remainder of the term fees at the point of joining.
