ADD YOUR VOICE to the tidal wave of music making in raising awareness of the Climate Emergency as we lead up to COP26, due to happen in Glasgow in November, as part of Let it Grow!

Formed in 2016 in partnership with Edinburgh promotion legends The Soundhouse Organisation, the very fun and friendly Soundhouse Choir is an ALL-WELCOME Community Choir. We’ll celebrate our fifth birthday in the middle of this term!

We look forward to preparing to make a big NOISE in the name of the Climate Emergency we face, as we lead up to the crucial summit of COP26. We welcome finally the chance to actually sing together after some easing of the restrictions we’ve endured over the past 18 months. As singers we have faced more prolonged restriction than most and so we have braved, and since embraced working online, the only possible way for choirs. Working this way, although challenging initially, has presented some surprising and welcome silver linings.

We recorded and released three songs, and it is one of those, the rousing anthemic piece Enough is Enough, produced in collaboration with Karine Polwart and Oi Musica, that we will primarily focus on this term. We look to being performance-ready, whilst talks take place exploring opportunities to do so.

The choir has welcomed singers from the length and breadth of the UK, from Shetland to Sussex, and from overseas from New York to Lisbon and has remained 100 strong. By hosting an online stream to the term we welcome those from afar who still wish to join us.

Anyone can join with no previous experience. There is no requirement to read music although scores are available for this piece. Recorded parts are also provided.

'Singing with Heather brings out the best in me!'

ADD YOUR VOICE!
