Event description
Sound Ecology will take the audience on a sonic and visual journey to remote natural soundscapes reminiscent of an ancient-future existence.

About this Event

Sound Ecology is an immersive concert experience featuring soundscape compositions by wilderness composer Stephen Wood and photomontage by Davyd Betchkal, an acoustician and ranger with the National Park Service.

Sound Ecology will take the audience on a sonic and visual journey to remote natural soundscapes reminiscent of an ancient-future existence. Wood and Betchkal have fostered a friendship and collaboration fusing art and science into a true symbiosis. Wood’s soundscape compositions will move the listener back in time, where the noise of humanity is but an echo in the future. Betchkal’s liminal spaces promise fertile solitude. Together, Wood and Betchkal will present our moment’s pivoting existence, wondering which direction humanity will choose to proceed.
