Event description

Description

Join us for a Sound Bath evening with Lucia Lilikoi at Heart Tribe!
Lucia uses Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, mantras and chanting, koshi chimes, medicine drum, percussion, bells, kalimba and other instruments to weave a magical experience.
Let the sounds wash over you as you lie in a restorative pose, and allow for your nervous system to get attuned and recalibrated. Theta sound waves are activated, and they work on the subtle body of the person receiving, bringing harmony to body, mind, and soul.

*Please bring a yoga mat and/or blanket if you have one, and anything you may need to get cozy for this event - Heart Tribe has a limited number of blankets.

Some of the benefits of sound bathing:
Sound waves can reduce anxiety and stress, lower blood pressure and depression, induce deep relaxation, increase creativity, and over-all well-being. Increases mental and emotional clarity, and promotes stillness and happiness.

About Lucia -
Lucia Lilikoi is a Spanish singer-songwriter, educator and multi-instrumentalist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her soulful and ethereal voice allures the listener into a translucent and strangely familiar world in a genre she calls “dream folk.”
She is also a sound healer, and uses soundscapes to help people heal through the resonance of sound. Lucia offers private and community Sound Baths, using an array of instruments that she has collected throughout her journey. Over the years Lucia has toured in the US and Europe in venues as diverse as The House of Blues and Esalen. she has collaborated with Julie Wolf (Ani Difranco, Joan Baez, Sia), Grammy-winning producer Malcolm Burn (Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley, Emmylou Harris), Joey Maramba (Rickie Lee Jones, John Cale), and most recently with Jai Uttal. Lilikoi’s song “One Hand to the Sun” was part of a Kirtan Aid collection alongside Rising Appalachia, Tina Malia, and Deva Premal. Her songs have been featured on shows like The L Word, and she has composed original scores for documentary films featuring luminaries like Buddhist ecologist Joanna Macy. Lucia’s main interest is to create a world of sound where listeners can immerse and experience magic, healing and a return to our distant home. She is constantly exploring the role of music in social change and subtle activism.

“Breathtaking, awe-inspiring, magical: These are just a few words that come to mind when I think of Lucia's voice. My company KISMET partnered with Lucia on a Sound Bath at Outdoor Voices in San Francisco, and she led us through the most incredible immersive sound healing experience. Lucia exudes a steady and calm energy that put the room at ease immediately, by the end of the session you could see the energy in the room completely transformed -- people were completely relaxed, at ease and entranced by her soundscape of instruments and divinely angelic voice. KISMET would partner with Lucia again in a heartbeat, and we feel grateful that she shared her musical gifts with our community.” ~Leah Abrahams, Kismet.

"Lucia is an extraordinary artist of these turbulent times. She writes, sings and plays music that embraces the difficulties and speaks of the issues, while soothing us so we can keep faith and courage. What a blessing is this music! We need you Lucia, so set sail with your music. We are on board."-Rhiannon. Improviser, performer, master teacher.

"Lucía Lilikoi is able to generate with her music consciousness levels worthy of a true pagan priestess. Her third album carries the evocative title ‘Vessel’, a small master piece of intimist pop which proposes a journey through water as a means of purification and personal growth.”-Territorios Sevilla Festival.
