Event description
Join Scott Stabile, author of "Big Love," for a workshop that helps us find, within ourselves, answers to our most pressing questions.

About this Event

We're all expert at consulting our minds when it comes to answering questions and making important decisions. Unfortunately, our minds often give us answers and information that is rooted in fear, not in wisdom. That's why it's important to get in conversation with our higher selves, our wise selves, our souls.

Soul Writing, with author and love activist Scott Stabile, creates a space to do just that — to learn how to develop a relationship with our higher selves through the practice of writing. This is not just for writers. It's for those of us who are tired of feeling lost when it comes to taking the next step, and who no longer want those next steps to be dictated by fear. It's for those of us who want a deeper understanding of who we are, and of who we are not. It's for those of us who want to feel more connected to the sacredness within us all.

Each of us has innate wisdom, the answers to our deepest, most pressing questions. We've just got to start communicating to a consciousness beyond our mind, and listen for answers that come from soul. We can all do this, if we choose to.

Maybe you've got some big questions or are dealing with an important decision right now. Maybe you want a deeper understanding of a current situation, or of aspects of your personality. Maybe you want to infuse your creativity, or work, with more honesty and depth. Let's check in with our hearts, our souls, for the answers we're not getting from our minds.

Along with the targeted writing exercises, Scott will lead class discussion and share the unfiltered, compassionate insights to which his many readers and listeners have become accustomed.

Scott's workshops are always intimate. You'll have ample opportunity to ask questions, and connect with other open-hearted, courageous souls.

Absolutely no writing experience necessary to benefit from the insights you'll discover in this workshop.

Please bring a journal or notebook, and above all, a willingness to be honest with yourself.

Here's what past attendees had to say about Scott's workshops:

"Give yourself the gift of an afternoon with Scott. Greeted on the spot with a big bear hug, this man radiates love and light and fosters a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. He's also not afraid to take you gently, with guidance and wisdom into some of the murky, darker things that we all must navigate in this very human existence - fear, shame, forgiveness, empathy, compassion. The energy of the group was so safe and nonjudgemental. It was paramount to the kind of writing he helps prompt you to excavate from within. The flow of his workshop was almost effortless in the way we spent time writing, sharing and writing some more. I left his workshop with a full heart, many wonderful connections and so much more clarity around the work I want to do in order to continue to heal." - Suzannah S.

"I had no idea of the level of connection, insight and action that would be inspired by one afternoon workshop with Scott. Through love, candid conversation and creative exercises, I emerged ready to take on my fears and excited to make progress toward my dreams while gaining a new-found support network in the wonderful people I met during the workshop." - Kristin H.

"I can't say enough good things about Scott's workshop. He is such a warm and loving presence and it is felt the moment you enter the room. I felt safe and supported by not only Scott but the participants. I learned such valuable tools and techniques that afternoon. I have already put in to practice what I learned and will continue to do so for many years to come. Highly recommended." - Danelle S.

"If Scott comes to your town, GO to his workshop. Drop everything and GO. You will walk away feeling more aware of yourself, and most likely more at peace with yourself. I sure did. The writing exercises are exceptional, but there's something about Scott specifically that blew me away. Such wisdom and compassion. And he's really funny too. Like I said, JUST GO. You will be so grateful you did." - Jenny K.

Here's a TV interview I did on Portland's "Afternoon Live," where we covered the spectrum from dealing with grief to tossing out uncomfortable underwear.
