Event description

Description

The Harlem Renaissance period was an incredibly creative period of growth in the United States. In Delray Beach, people from the Caribbean and all over were migrating to the area to start fresh, new lives, including Solomon D. Spady. Langston Hughes was creating a backdrop for the Civil Rights movement in America by writing about the experiences of African Americans. Actor and playwright, Daron Stewart, brings this character to life with jazz, blues and poetry. This one-man play, in the intitmate and welcoming space of the Spady Museum, is a 50 minute immersion into the life and times of Langston Hughes. (CLIP)
