SOUL FOOD WEDNESDAYS
Community Culture spotlighting Black Business
About this event
We define “Soul Food” as food that warms the soul, it’s multicultural and a celebration of life.
Since June 2020, Blax Friday in partnership with Hotel Congress spotlights local Black businesses on Soul Food Wednesdays. Due to summer renovations at Hotel Congress, we are moving this event to the MSA Annex! We will be back with our community partners at Hotel Congress in October.
Join us every last Wednesday of June through August with soulful vibes from DJ Impeccable and delicious plates from Dre’s Seafood and BBQ. There will also be a themed drink special at Westbound and SFW inspired menu items from Decibel Kitchen, Beaut Burger, and Kukai.

Blax Friday is a community organization created in the summer of 2020, that spotlights Black businesses in Arizona. Our goals are representation and economic empowerment of Black business owners. We spotlight businesses through our website, app, social marketing, promotions, weekly newsletters, and community events.
The MSA Annex is an expansion of the Mercado San Agustín. The shops and eateries at the MSA Annex are housed beautifully inside modified shipping containers.
