About this event
Sophisticated Science - Wild Careers
Sophisticated Science is Turtle Back Zoo’s new curriculum geared for ages 13 and up. Sophisticated Science seminars are perfect for those interested in science, conservation, zoo animals, and animal careers. Both mini-series and individual seminars will be offered through this curriculum, so be sure to keep an eye out as we continue to add more topics!
Are you a high school or college student who likes animals and wants to help save Earth's wildlife? Do you imagine yourself working in a zoo but don't know how to get there? Then Wild Careers is the program for you! This seminar will discuss the zoo field, the many jobs required to make a zoo functional, what education and experience these jobs require, and other careers for animal lovers.
The program includes a lesson in the Berson Education Center classrooms followed by an animal presentation, a zoo tour, and Q&As with zoo staff. Seminars will run throughout the spring. Additional dates may continue to be added, so please be sure to check back for updates. Wild Careers is offered Saturday afternoons from 1 pm to 3 pm. This is an in-person program. Face coverings are required indoors. The program does not include separate zoo admission.
