Sophia Agranovich will perform a solo recital at the Palmer Museum of Springfield Public Library on Sunday, December 11 at 2 PM.
The program will feature works by Liszt, Chopin and Rachmaninoff.
Internationally acclaimed soloist, chamber musician, recording artist and educator, Sophia Agranovich is “a bold, daring pianist in the tradition of the Golden Age Romantics…A tigress of the keyboard” - Fanfare. A Steinway Artist, Ms. Agranovich has performed in USA, Europe, Israel, and Canada. Among her venues are Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Bargemusic, Salle Cortot, and Ehrbarsaal. Ms. Agranovich has collaborated with prominent musicians and members of major orchestras. She is a First Prize winner of Ukrainian Young Artists and Bergen Philharmonic competitions, a recipient of two Gold Medals from Prestige Music Awards and four Silver Medals from Global Music Awards. Her concerts and CD albums are broadcasted on major stations worldwide, most recently in Brazil, Canada and New York on WWFM and WQXR.
Ms. Agranovich has earned Bachelor and Master Degrees at the Juilliard School studying with legendary Sascha Gorodnitzki and Nadia Reisenberg, where she held a full scholarship and a Teaching Fellowship, and later continued Doctoral studies at Columbia University.
Sophia Agranovich is an esteemed pedagogue and is a recipient of numerous teaching awards. She is the voting member of NARAS, Artistic Director of classical music series at the Watchung Arts Center and Program Chair of Music Educators Association of New Jersey.
