Event description
Join us as we discuss the practical applications of blockchain in healthcare, its limitations, and the challenges that need to be overcome.

About this Event

Blockchain in healthcare...is it really a revolution? Is it anything more than Bitcoin? Heralded as everything from a complete scam to the most revolutionary technology since the internet, join us as we discuss the practical applications of blockchain in healthcare, its limitations, and the challenges it faces for widespread adoption within the healthcare system.

We’ll weed through the field of jargon surrounding blockchain, like disintermediation, centralized vs decentralized communication, smart contracts, permissioned vs permissionless, mining, tokens, etc! And discuss whether a trustless platform might be just what the doctor ordered to restore trust in the system. And finally, we’ll talk about when and if it makes sense for existing startups and companies to incorporate blockchain into their current offerings.

Admission is free for SoPE Members (enter your SoPE registered email as promo code). Membership is open to all interested in healthcare entrepreneurship -- become a SoPE member today at sopenet.org
