Songwriter Sessions: Lyrics Workshop
Sat, March 25, 2017, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM CDT
Shift115 Worship Collective equipping events aim to examine and strengthen our HEART through prayer, worship, and spiritual formation, sharpen our HEAD in biblical and technical teaching, and equip our HANDS with practical training and application.
Whether inside or out of the walls of a church, a good song needs good framework. If you've just been dabbling with songwriting or been writing for years, this workshop will give you a framework to develop your skills as a songwriter. We will be focused on the lyric framework and writing in this session. Feel free to bring some lyrics you've written and want to develop. Since we're not working on musical composition, no need to bring an instrument.
Some of the concepts we will look at during this workshop include Idea Development, Keywords and Power Positions, and Chorus and Verse Development.
Luke Lynass is the instructor for this songwriting workshop. Luke has a passion for his family, songwriting, producing, fitnessing, and leading worship. He currently serves as Worship Pastor for Arise Church and is an owner and coach at Crossfit Phos.
Registration includes coffee and refreshments. $35 ticket includes the required book, Writing Better Lyrics by Pat Pattison. You can purchase a $25 ticket for the workshop if you own the book or purchase it on your own.
