This April 4th will mark exactly 50 years since we lost Dr. King. Come out and unite in the continuing quest for social justice. Songs of the Chicago Freedom Movement & beyond will feature the music of the legendary Gene (Daddy G) Barge, with a band put together just for this event, and folk singer and song writer Jimmy Collier, as well as movement music from Mavis Staples, Curtis Mayfield, Mahalia Jackson and others whose songs helped to fuel the Chicago campaign and keep morale high.

The concert will also feature talented young adult musicians who will present their interpretations of this music for today’s social justice work as winners of a pre-event competition to be held on Friday, March 9th at Hartzell United Methodist Church, 3330 S. King Drive, at 7 pm, sign-up starts at 6:00 pm. See addiewyattcenter.org for details.

Sure to be unforgettable events! Support the Addie Wyatt Center's nonviolence training programs for youth and young adults!
