Songbook II: More from the Great American Songbook - Berkeley
Event Information
Description
Clerestory returns to its long-running and popular series of Americana concerts. Songbook II explores more of the rich body of popular American musical styles that Clerestory first visited in 2015. The singers will delve into African American spirituals, barbershop, folk songs, and jazz styles to showcase their energy, textual richness, and deep emotional expressivity. Timeless melodies from all these genres and more make up what is known as the Great American Songbook, and we are thrilled to share a second chapter with our audiences.
This listing is for the Songbook II performance at the David Brower Center in Berkeley on May 12, 4pm. The program will also be performed in San Francisco at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church on May 11, 8pm (tickets for that performance may be purchased here).
NEW: We encourage you to purchase your tickets online in advance. Tickets at the door will each increase by $5.
