Event description

Description

There are seasons in life when darkness seems to be winning, as we endure heart-break, devastating news, life-changing diagnoses, passing of loved ones, job loss, pervasive doubt, recurring depression... and any manner of suffering this world can bring. It's in these seasons, that even as the sun rises, light evades us and we find ourselves in the midst of the longest night our souls have ever known. As followers of Jesus, we long to turn to him in those crushing moments, to feel his nearness and hear his song over us in the night. Sadly, many of us feel ill-equipped to pursue and see Jesus in the midst of our suffering, and it's especially difficult to trust the scriptures' promise that suffering is building perseverance in us.

On Saturday, October 21st, we'll spend the morning hearing from Anne Fletcher, a local speaker, teacher, and counselor, who has led many women to trust the tenderness of Jesus and to begin to hear that song in the night. She will be sharing practical insight in studying scripture and how to suffer in community alongside one another. This content is essential, even if you find yourself currently in a mountain-top season of life, we will be gleaning applicable wisdom not only in how to suffer with Jesus personally but how to walk with others in the midst of their darkest night.

We'll begin with worship at 9:00a, and content will start shortly after! Breakfast and coffee will be provided, so please come hungry and ready for caffeine. Feel free to arrive as early as 8:30a to eat and mingle. Child-care will be available for those who need it, just be sure to select a child-care ticket for your admission!
