Event description
Please join us for the lecture performance, Some Thoughts on Time Dilation, by Hong-Kong based artist Morgan Wong.

About this Event

Please join us for the lecture performance, Some Thoughts on Time Dilation (AAA, ABB, ABHK, America, Beuys, Bread, Cao, Einstein, Hare, Kentridge, Leung, Mangoes, Pythagoras, River, Wong Jr., Wong Sr. and possibly more) (2018), by Hong-Kong based artist Morgan Wong. This work furthers Wong’s research on the topic of time and its passage, including the possibility of multiple presences that allow us to reconsider time's conventional arrow-like trajectory. The lecture performance, which had been previously presented in Hong Kong, Istanbul, and Seoul, connects anecdotes in Wong's life to open up new ways to think about his and our relationship towards time and its irrepressible passage.

Morgan Wong's artistic practice concerns the notion of the passage of time and its relationship between individual and society. His solo exhibition includes “The Dashes”, Goethe Institute, Hong Kong (2019), “Our Feet Are Younger than Our Heads”, Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, Hong Kong (2018), and “Mean Time”, Centre A, Vancouver (2016). Wong has exhibited internationally at institutions including Para Site, Videotage, MILL6 Foundation, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, OCAT Institute, ArtScience Museum Singapore, Gwangju Museum of Art, Seoul Museum of Art, Borusan Contemporary, Media Museum ZKM, and Times Art Center Berlin. Wong graduated with MFA at Slade School of Fine Art, UCL and BA in Creative Media at The School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. In 2019 he received the New York Fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council.

Please note that in order to ensure that events are accessible and comfortable, we will open the doors at 6:30 p.m. and strictly limit admittance to our legal capacity.
