About this event

Somatic Practice Class

In this class, you have the opportunity to become aware of stressful holding patterns which can be undone by initiating small incremental, step by step, micro-movements within your bodily form. These exercises are practiced while seated and have the ability to manage fear, doubt, worry, and anxiety.

The class consists of two consecutive Saturdays, two hours in length.

May 15, 2021: 1:00pm to 3:00pm

May 22, 2021: 1:00pm to 3:00pm

In the initial class meeting, an overview of somatic practice will be defined. You will be provided an opportunity to practice subtle somatic movements.

The class is designed for individuals to share with the facilitator; however, there is no pressure to share.

This is a safe space.

In the class you will learn:

• To disorganize bodily tension utilizing subtle .micro-movements

• To form inner peace and calm by disorganizing anxious bodily patterns of stress.

• How your body overextends itself gearing up for action and how to work with oneself to form inner stability.

• How to form healthy boundaries.

Facilitators:

The class is facilitated by Robert Pomonis, ALSP, 20 years of somatic practice experience, and MM Riccio, MA, Teaching Assistant, 37 years of somatic practice experience.
