About the workshop:

Please join Kelly Dungan, RN, CPM, LM, Spinning Babies® Approved Trainer, and Meg Heather Ford, Certified Doula and trained acupuncturist, for an experiential workshop for all birthworkers offering in depth discussion and hands on support skills for those who support birth.

"Somatic Inquiry for Birth" asks the question: How does the felt experience of the body influence what takes place in the birth room? What is the autonomic state of the birthing body, of the nursing body, of the obstetric body? Through the lens of the nervous system, we discover that physiologic birth is truma informed.

We believe the role of the birthkeeper is in working skillfully with both trauma and transformation--that is, mitigating/preventing/responding to trauma as well as facilitating the deeply transformational aspects of birth.

Learn: labor support skills, communication tools and practices for sustainable birth work

Explore: the hormonal blueprint of birth, polyvagal theory and systems level solutions.

Shifting towards a new paradigm of practice: What is the Council Model of Birth?

Approved for 10 CEUs through AHNA (American Holistic Nurses Association)

All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Join a circle of birthkeepers showing up for the future of birth!
