Virtual Solve at MIT brings together innovators to build partnerships and tackle global challenges alongside Solve's community.

About this event

Virtual Solve at MIT plenary sessions are livestreamed and open to all, while our breakout discussion sessions are open to Solve Members, judges and Solver teams on a separate Hopin platform.

We will livestream all of our plenary sessions on May 3-4 , so anyone, anywhere can tune in to access insightful speakers and inspiring performers.

The morning plenary sessions will be from 11:00 - 11:30 AM ET both days, and our afternoon sessions will take place 2:15 - 3:15 PM ET on May 3rd and 2:15 - 3:00 PM ET on May 4th.

The livestreamed plenaries will feature:

  • A conversation on the latest Covid-19 vaccine developments with MIT President L. Rafael Reif and Noubar Afeyan, Co-Founder and Chairman, Moderna, Founder and CEO, Flagship Pioneering, and MIT Corporation member
  • A fireside chat on youth innovation with Gitanjali Rao, Inventor and Time’s Kid of the Year, and 2017 Solver Emma Yang, Founder, Timeless
  • A panel on proximate solutions for the future of food with Wanjira Mathai, Vice President and Regional Director for Africa, World Resources Institute and 2020 Solver Talash Huijbers, Founder and CEO, InsectiPro, moderated by Terence Mauri, Writer, Inc. Magazine.
  • An interview with Eric S. Yuan, Founder and CEO, Zoom
  • A discussion on impact investing in diverse founders with Jean Case, CEO, Case Impact Network and Case Foundation, and Chairman, the National Geographic Society, 2019 Solver Dr. Garry Cooper, CEO, Rheaply, and Solver Priya Lakhani, Founder and CEO, CENTURY Tech.
