Event description

Description

Pacific Education Institute (PEI) is recruiting 5th grade and High School teachers to implement our food waste storylines that address climate change. Each storyline incorporated the following elements: NGSS aligned 3-Dimensional instruction, Indigenous ways of knowing, locally relevant activities, and solution oriented learning based on research from Project Drawdown.

This workshop is part of a series of activities that includes: a two-day workshop (support available for teachers traveling long distances), implementation of the storyline, collection and scoring submission of student work and a follow-up vidoe conference to check-in on progress and provide feedback November 12, 2019.

This workshop is for 5th grade and High School classroom teachers - grade level teams are encouraged.

  • Sub reimbursement is provided up to $150 per day.
  • A $150 implementation stipend is available for those that implement the storyline, attend the video conference follow-up, and collect/submit student assessment data.
  • 12 STEM Washington State approved clock hours are available to teachers attending both days.
