Event description

Description

The Center for Art Law invites you to a movie night at the Quad Cinema, for the screening of The Price of Everything (2018), a documentary about the realities of the art world as seen from the eyes of Nathaniel Kahn. Following the screening, the editors will lead a Q&A with members of the public.

The movie

The Price of Everything explores the roles of art and artistic passion in today’s money-driven, consumer-based society — exposing deep contradictions as it holds a mirror up to contemporary values and times. Personalities appearing in the film include Larry Poons, 1960s artist, Amy Cappellazzo, current Chairman of Global Fine Arts at Sotheby's, and Jerry Salz, art critic. Watch the trailer.

The screening

After a world premiere at the Sundance Festival in January 2018 and appearing at numerous film festivals, the documentary will be released in American theaters mid-October.

As part of the You've Been Served program, the screening will take place at the Quad Cinema in Manhattan, who set aside 15 seats for us. There is limited seating, please make sure you get your tickets in advance!

The discussion

After the screening, the editors will answer our questions, followed by a glass of wine at the Quad Bar after with those who wish to discuss the movie.

  • Early Bird Ticket ($13): SPECIAL DISCOUNT if purchased before October 15

  • General Admission ($16): purchased after October 15

UPDATE: we are sold out, but if you are still interested in a screening, you can purchase tickets for a different date/time from the Quad at their regular price, starting October 15.
