On the week of the anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe's death, the Mütter Museum presents an immersive performance of his short story "The Masque of the Red Death" devised and performed by Josh Hitchens and Going Dark Theatre Company. Join us upstairs in our beautiful ballroom and learn about tuberculosis through a pop up exhibit designed specifically for this event. The performance will be followed by a discussion of the representation of tuberculosis in Poe's works and life by Edward G. Pettit, Philadelphia Poe scholar. The event begins at 6pm.
Light snacks, beer, and wine will be provided.
Dress for the occasion - formal wear encouraged.
Tickets are transferable, but not refundable.
