Event description

Join us for the inaugural Homestead Climbers’ Festival!

The Homestead is considered by many to be one of the best winter limestone climbing areas in the United States. Its 250 sport climbs, 12 limestone walls, and true tufa features stood unguarded for decades in a region of international mining interests and lands in need of stronger protection. In 2014, access was imminently threatened when the bank foreclosed on a piece of private property that overlapped key portions of the access road, trailhead, and first few dozen routes. With a narrow window of opportunity, Access Fund used its Climbing Conservation Loan Program to secure temporary ownership of the Homestead access point.

WE NEED YOUR HELP to bring the climbing community together to enjoy this remarkable climbing destination and give back to Homestead’s conservation. 100% of event proceeds will contribute to the amount owed for the land - currently over $65,000 - to keep Homestead open and accessible to climbing and recreation for years to come.

This down-to-earth event is for both old and newcomers to Homestead. Experience the serene desert setting and stellar climbing with Access Fund, American Alpine Club, Arizona Women's Climbing Coalition, Northern Arizona Climbers Coalition, and Climbing Association of Southern Arizona.

Tickets are on a sliding scale - you decide how much you are willing to contribute! 100% of event proceeds will help pay back the amount owed for the 360 acres of Homestead.

Included in your ticket purchase:

  • 1 swag bag and festival t-shirt
  • 3 meals (Saturday breakfast and dinner, Sunday breakfast)
  • Coffee in the morning, beer in the evening
  • A fantastic time making a difference with the local climbing and nonprofit community

Ticket pricing:

$15 ---- $30 ---- $50 ---- $100

Two-wheeled vehicles may be parked at Dripping Springs Road intersection, requiring a short walk along the highway to access Homestead road.*

*We will be coordinating a Saturday morning shuttle from the lower parking area. Stay tuned for more information.
