About the speaker:

PAUL W. HOBBY, CHAIRMAN, TEXAS MONTHLY MAGAZINE

Paul is a founding partner of Genesis Park and also serves as Chairman of Texas Monthly. He has sourced and structured and led a number of successful investments, significant among them are ColumbineJDS, where he carved out a division of Jefferson Pilot and created the largest back office media software firm in the world while serving as Executive Chairman, and Alpheus Communications, where he carved out a telecommunications subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, rebranded and refocused the enterprise to create the largest alternative fiber optic network in Texas, then took the company into data centers and througha successful exit.

Paul has served as the Chairman of the Texas Ethics Commission, the Greater Houston Partnership, the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the Texas General Services Commission and the Texas Business Hall of Fame. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Virginia and a JD from the University of Texas Law School.
