Event description

Description

Join Michelle Browder, founder of More Than Tours and women from across the country in Montgomery & Selma, Alabama for an historic sojourn of women’s rights, civil rights, and voting rights using art, history, and conversation as tools to energize and foster participation in civic engagement and social issues.

Montgomery, Alabama is an epicenter in the fight for civil rights and human rights spanning decades throughout cities and states across the Nation. The Alabama State Capital Building served as the destination of the third march for voting rights from Selma, yet there is much more to Montgomery’s significance as an important historical place than what occurred at the iconic Capitol. Visit the city‘s historic museums, visit The National Memorial For Peace and Justice and the Legacy Museum. We will tour U.S. Civil Rights Trail explore Dr. Martin Luther King’s church, the site of Rosa Parks’ arrest. Travel to Selma and meet notable leaders in Montgomery during the height of Civil Rights Movement and join panel guests in empowerment sessions.
