SOIL :: SUSTAINABILITY :: SUSTENANCE

Wild Willow Farm & Education Center and The Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County/Tijuana River Valley Community Garden are teaming up for the third annual Soil Shindig: a day-long event to celebrate healthy soil, sustainability, and food in the Tijuana River Valley Regional Park!

The Soil Shindig will include workshops, demonstrations, great food, farm tours, trail walks, wagon rides, kids’ activities, a vendor fair, and much more! Both sites will host various festivities, and visitors are encouraged to move between sites by bike, foot or carriage.

The Tijuana River Valley boasts a vibrant backdrop for both farming and recreational activities. Connected by over 20 miles of trails, you are invited to explore the river valley in this celebration of soil!

EVENT SCHEDULE:
10:00 am -11:00 am: Workshop Session One
11:00 am -11:30 am: Soil Demos and Trail Walk
11:30 am -12:30 pm: Workshop Session Two
12:30 pm -1:00 pm: Soil Demos and Trail Walk
1:00 pm -2:00 pm: “Harvest Fiesta” Community hour/ masa making/ music by DJ Kutz
2:00 pm – End of day trail walk
11:00 am -1:00 pm: Horse and carriage rides ($1/trip)
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm: Food truck

All Day:
BYO T-shirt screening at Wild Willow Farm!
Bring your own plain, light-colored T-shirt to have screened with a commemorative Soil Shindig design!
