Description

Soft Fruits Pruning and Orchard Maintenance Session:
Saturday 4th March 2017 , 10 - 3pm, Hyde Park Community Orchard

Jane Massam (former horticulture course leader from Tameside College) will be leading a practical session including the opportunity to learn and practise how to prune gooseberries and redcurrant bushes to keep them in good shape and promote fruit production. We’ll also be mulching young fruit trees as well as weeding and mulching the soft fruit beds in the orchard.

This workshop is free of charge, and a great chance to learn practical skills in a friendly group. Booking is essential though, please click "Register" opposite to book.

Lunch isn't provided but sandwiches are available from the cafe in the park or bring your own lunch. Hot drinks and biscuits will also be provided.

(Please note: This session is aimed at adults only as we’ll be using sharp tools. If you want to bring kids, please contact us before booking as we’ll need to ensure that they are supervised by an adult who isn’t on the training.)
