Description: Social workers in healthcare systems typically function as case managers supporting discharge planning and assessment. In June 2021, Prisma Health launched the Inpatient Addiction Consult Team (IACT) at both Greenville Memorial and Richland Memorial Hospitals. Both teams adopted a model utilizing Licensed Master Social Workers as leaders of the team.
