Description

Social Technovation 412

“The Marriage of Technology and Social Issues in Pittsburgh”

#socialtech412

At this GTECH Social Capital Council networking event, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a live panel discussion, featuring innovative Pittsburgh- based professionals whose organizations combine technology with social innovation, allowing them to impact both society and shareholder, proliferate a more powerful message and make money while making a difference.

Join in the discussion and live tweeting while enjoying a beer, hors d'oeuvres and networking. Proceeds help our Social Capital Council continue to host events that unite Pittsburghers with our community-based work in a meaningful and fun way (like this!). Thank you for your support!

About the panelists:

Elwin Green, @elwin15208

Journalist, filmmaker and writer - Elwin’s overarching business goal is “to play a major role in the positive transformation of his neighborhood through the activities of two companies: Luminaria Productions LLC, a media production company, and Homewood Capital Partners LLC, a real estate investment company.”

Lacy Caric, @lclikessnacks

With a background in sales, Lacy now works in business development for Evive Station, LLC, the first reusable water bottle cleaning and refilling station that promotes user health, saving money and preventing over 9,000 single-use bottle per month from entering a landfill.

Josh Lucas, @sixfloors

Josh is currently working on the Hardware Store, a co-working space that specializes in the collaboration of media professionals, startups, and nonprofits. He is also President and founder of Crowdasaurus, a white-label crowdfunding application that treats projects as digital marketing content.

Tracy Certo, @tracycerto

Tracy is the founder, editor and publisher at NEXTpittsburgh, a new online magazine taking Pittsburgh to the next level. She also serves as a Transatlantic City Representative for the German Marshall Fund, a non-partisan American public policy and grantmaking institution that promotes better understanding and cooperation between North America and Europe on transatlantic and global issues.

Evaine Sing, @GTECHstrategies

Evaine is the Operations, Policy and Research Director for GTECH Strategies and a registered Landscape Architect. Working with GTECH's ReClaim program and LocalData, she engages individuals to take ownership of the communities they live in, creating sustainable solutions to the issue of vacant land in the Pittsburgh urban community.

Moderated by:

Kit Mueller, @kitmueller

Entrepreneur and co-founder of Rustbuilt, a community-based initiative with the sole purpose of shedding a light on the collective and valuable innovation and entrepreneurialism of the Rust Belt. Also an advisor of several organizations, including Emplified, Atmosferiq and Thinkerous.
