Event description

Join us on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 5 - 7 p.m. for the ASU Lodestar Center's next forum in our PhilanthropyMatters Speaker Series, "Social Return on Investment: The Impact of Arizona’s Nonprofits."

Philanthropy can be a catalyst for social change, and nonprofit organizations are often the vehicle for that change.

A new research study by ASU targets the broad positive social impact of nonprofits, and how they contribute to the vital short-term and long-term benefits nonprofits generate in a community, such as civic engagement and job development.

When considering the under-utilized potential of nonprofit organizations to create social impact, the role of philanthropy is elevated.

At this event we will explore the social return on investment through nonprofit impact and the implications for philanthropy as a strategy for advancing the greater good.

Roundtable discussion to include:

  • Robert F. Ashcraft, Ph.D., Executive Director, ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation
  • Laurel Kimball, President, The Greenleaf Group
  • Kristi Tate, Senior Advisor, Civic & Community Engagement Initiatives, Center for the Future of Arizona
  • Anthony Evans, Senior Research Fellow, L. William Seidman Research Institute, WP Carey School of Business, ASU
  • Kristen Merrifield, CEO, Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits

Light reception at 5 p.m. | Program at 5:30 p.m.
