Social Media Policy Development
Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (CDT)
Who should attend: Communications directors, PR staff, Social media managers, Marketing staff
You and your organization get it... You need to be on social media. But how do you protect your organization’s brand and voice and also get a whole bunch of people in your organization using social media without losing control? How do people know what is and isn’t acceptable to post? How do you know who to engage with and on what platform? You need a social media policy. A social media policy defines your team’s roles, rules and responsibilities and establishes guidelines to communicate consistently across the web. It also lets your team know how to prevent or respond to a crisis. These policies can range from simple to complicated. It really depends on how much you, the communications director or other person-in-charge needs to dictate.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Develop an effective and relevant social media policy
Develop scenarios to create rules and guidelines for staff to follow
Understand how organizational culture and voice play a role in determining a social media policy
Participants will create:
Social media policy framework
Improve these skills in these workshops:
