Where: LMU Seaver Hall 100

Los Angeles, CA 90045

Why: Colleges/employers/scholarships are no longer asking for references, they are searching for students online to see how they act on social media and making their decisions based on their first impressions. Do you know all of the different ways colleges will find your student’s online footprint? Do you know how many other people might look like your student and have a bad online reputation? This event will give you knowledge, a 6 month game plan and help your kids approach social media as a purpose, instead of a past time.

Here’s what we will cover:

  • How social media can hurt your kid’s future
  • Common social media mistakes made
  • The 6 types of posts that will limit your student’s future
  • Social media posts and strategies that impress colleges
  • Social media posts that impress internships/employers
  • 7 Social networks that help you shine online
  • Screenshots of successful role models your kids can learn from on each network
  • Find out the networks where colleges want and expect you to have a presence
  • Quick overview of the most important elements for the most professional network
  • Find out what photos are best for social media
  • Find out how Instagram can be used as a new resume
  • Learn the 7 ways to search for your student/family online
  • We will talk with your kids in a way they understand
  • We will work with them to ask what colleges they want to go to (live in the event)
  • Your student will have an idea of their “dream school” and social media plan by the time they end this event
  • We will treat your student as an adult and they are guaranteed to respond well to our way of inspiring them to shine online (or your money back)

We will answer these questions:

  • When should my kids be public on social media?
  • Do colleges search for students?
  • How can I monitor my students online?
  • How to stay updated on latest apps
  • Top 7 apps kids should be on
  • How to have a dialog with your kids

We have a 3 step plan you will learn by the end of this event:

  1. How to audit your student’s online image – Use Google to see what’s out there
  2. How to dialog with your student about their future (and where they want to go)
  3. Create content to improve their online image – Make it authentic and congruent with their college application
