Event description

Description

Endlessly innovating, social media is one of the most effective promotional tools in the creative industries. Join experts from the worlds of Art, Fashion and Film as they offer practical tips on how to use various social media channels in the most effective way.

Navi Lambar (BBC3), Nathalie Rigg (Rika magazine and formerly Another Digital) and Jesse Ringham (Sutton and formerly Tate), will share their experience of using different social media tools and channels, presenting case studies and practical advice. There will be plenty of time for audience questions.

This is an ideal seminar for anyone who is using social media to promote and grow their organisation, or their personal brand. Ticket includes morning and afternoon refreshments.

Subjects will include:

  • Social media strategy
  • What works and what doesn’t on Instagram
  • How film is transforming social media and how to make it work effectively
  • Getting the best out of images and multimedia
  • Social media etiquette
  • What’s next for social media

Navi Lamba joined BBC Three as social media manager in November of 2016. Before the BBC, Navi worked for VICE Media as a senior social producer for VICE, VICE News and Motherboard. She holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto with a focus on race relations and equity studies.

Natalie Rigg is an editor, arts and style writer and creative consultant, who most recently spent two years as Digital Editor of AnOther Magazine, part of the independent publishing group, Dazed Media. She is also the editor-at-large at bi-annual print magazine RIKA and a digital content consultant for several luxury fashion and lifestyle brands. She writes for The New York Times, The Guardian, AnOther Magazine, Riposte and Wallpaper.

Jesse Ringham has over 12 years’ experience of strategic marketing from both the commercial and arts sector with a leading focus on digital. Jesse has devised and implemented multiple digital, marketing & social engagement strategies for brands ranging from Marks & Spencer to Tate.
