For those of us interested in social media, it's about finding a community of peers, making connections, learning from and supporting each other.
Social Media Breakast Ottawa wants to help you do this by bringing you interesting, entertaining and timely speakers along with lots of real networking time over our (mostly) monthly breakfasts.
What's the event format?
We'll keep the event to 90 minutes, focusing on providing attendees with opportunities to meet each other. To spark conversation and discussion, we'll feature a guest speaker:
7:30 AM Arrival, coffee & pastries, networking
8:00 AM Guest speaker
8:20 AM Q & A
8:30 AM Announcement & more networking
9:00 AM We're done! On with your day . . .
What's this month's topic?
Social Media Year 5
Social Media is changing the game . . . We get it already.
Where does if fit in the organization? What skill sets best determine a social media lead? Do you hire an expert, an agency or go it alone? Do we focus on the one-offs, or look at this as a discipline over the long haul. What sort of commitment does it take to really make an impact with your brand in the social space?
To lead our final Breakfast of 2009, we've invited Collin Douma to Ottawa! Collin is Vice President, Social Media at Proximity Canada, a Toronto-based advertising agency. Some of you may read Collin's popular and influential marketing blog Radical Trust and follow him on Twitter as @collindouma.You can read a bit about him here.
Join Collin Douma as we explore these questions and discover options on how you can start planning for long-term success in social media.
Want to meet and learn from Collin? Sign up by selecting the 'Register Now' button! Hope to see you on the 3rd!
The fine print . . .
When & Where
SMBOttawa has been organized and hosted by Simon Chen, Rob Lane and Ryan Anderson since 2008. SMBOttawa's breakfast networking events are inspired and have evolved from the Social Media Breakfast concept started by Bryan Person in Boston:
". . . as an almost-monthly event where social media experts and newbies alike come together to eat, meet, share, and learn. Marketers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, bloggers, podcasters, new media fanatics, and online social networkers are all welcome to attend."
