The NGO Committee on Social Development's Technology & Arts Sub-Committee and UN DESA proudly host the Social Media 101: A Twitter Workshop for NGO's Advocating at the UN.

Location: Secretariat Building (Room S-1522 and S-1523).

Aim: This workshop will provide a brief overview of social media and its relevance, as a tool to engage with policymakers and high-level officials, for the NGOs advocating at the UN.

Structure: NGOs will be provided with a brief overview of social media platforms: what they are and how they work, why they are important for policymaking and engagement. UN DESA & DPI will discuss engagement and initiatives by the UN to engage with NGOs and civil society. The hosts will provide a step-by-step Training on Twitter, including: Why use Twitter for international relations (IR)? How to set up an account, tweet effectively, engage with others and analyse your results?

**N.B. Due to limited capacity, tickets for this event will be granted on a first come, first served basis. You must be a UN badge holder to attend this event.
