Event description

Description

This 90 minute seminar will focus on surveying the Jewish response to the presence and understanding of Other in our sacred texts, and in more modern sources. In what way does our tradition encourage us to "welcome the stranger in our midst," and reject stereotypes and fears about those on the fringes of our communities, and in what ways does Judaism sometimes reinforce damaging assumptions about the Other?

Join Rabbinical Student Margo Hughes-Robinson for a discussion of how deep engagement with -- and careful of -- Jewish tradition help us to break through stereotypes and assumptions about marginalized people that we may hold.
