Event description
Formed Families Forward and the Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL) present a social justice book club event.

About this event

Formed Families Forward and the Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL) present The Voting Booth by Brandy Colbert during the social justice book club event. This in-person event will teach participants, grades 6 - 9, life skills and critical thinking. Using sections from The Voting Booth, the discussion will encourage youth to negative impacts of voter suppression and identify the steps one can take to join the fight to demand equal justice for all Americans.

Youth do NOT need to read the book in advance. FCPL librarian and Teen Services Assistant Kelsey Rodomski will facilitate the event.

A light dinner will be served during the event. Registration is required to participate in the event. Parents and caregivers are not expected to stay but will need to come in and drop off the youth in person.

NOTE: It is expected that all participants attend both sessions 4:30- 6:30 PM on Tuesdays May 17 and May 24. Select 1 ticket per individual youth for BOTH dates.
