“In Uganda, where refugees have the right to work, the majority in Kampala are self-employed and in the Kisenyi district many Somalis run thriving businesses that even employ nationals. Access to remittances and the diaspora frequently provides the source of capital for entrepreneurship.” (The Guardian)
Migration is currently one of the biggest social challenges in Europe, and corporate leaders are getting involved. In Switzerland, the process of hiring people with a refugee background is opaque, and represents a barrier for companies to take action. Come to this event because you want to learn about the benefits and challenges of working with people who come from a refugee background, from local organisations who have experience.
Who it is for
The event brings a specific benefit to professionals with general interest in social innovation, and to professionals from organisations interested in working with people who come from a refugee background. When & Where
GreenBuzz is driven largely by volunteers that work on sustainability topics in their daily work. We are a non-profit association on the move and always happy and grateful for every helping hand (event organisation, accounting, project management, reporters, etc.).
