2018 is the year of the influencer. Brand marketers are increasingly turning to everyday tastemakers - friends, co-workers, family to broaden awareness and increase sales.  But how do these influencer marketing partnerships work? This masterclass is for would be influencers and brands alike and will feature Mae Karwowski founder of influencer platform Obviously, in conversation with one of the bloggers on her platform, Ellese Launer.  

About the speakers

Mae Karwowski is the founder and CEO of Obviously, the influencer management platform. With clients ranging from Sephora to Google, Mae has built a company at the forefront of influencer marketing, with offices in New York City, San Francisco and Paris. The company grew out of Mae’s passion for using technology to solve real world marketing problems. Prior to starting Obviously, Mae directed social media for Gilt City, part of Gilt Groupe, and oversaw social execution for clients such as Bravo, UGG, and Coca Cola with the agency 360i. She is a Graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy. 

Ellese Launer is the founder and editor of Rock. Paper. Glam. The online publication began as an outlet to discuss what was trending in fashion and the latest natural beauty products. Over the years, as the blog grew, it morphed into a place to discuss several issues women face: mental wellness, health, equality, and a sustainable future. While it is still largely focused on style and beauty, there is a fun dose of real talk with the main objective to empower women by providing them with the tools to feel their best.

 

Her latest collaborations have included Google’s #teampixel ambassador, Skagen, Sephora Beauty Community, and Vanity Fair Social Club- The Hollywood Campaign. Ellese has covered events such as New York Fashion Week, Men’s New York Fashion Week, Conde Nast Traveler Presentation, and the United Nations ECOSOC Youth Forum.
