Event description

Description

With a shift in social consciousness that has become more predominant in mainstream industry, social enterprise companies have changed how traditional business is done. This comprehensive, two-part series is designed in partnership with Business Link on educating on how to design, develop and launch a social enterprise. With workshops taking place in the evening, one-on-one coaching will also be available as part of this series.

*As each session builds on the last, the participants must be able to commit to both sessions to ensure maximum return on value.*

Session 1 – Social Enterprise and Your Business/The Social Business Model Canvas-February 15

Business for good? What is a social enterprise? Let’s answer these questions together, and explore how purpose driven business can flourish and create social impact at the same time. This intro will give you a heightened understanding of social enterprise and how this tool can be utilized for greater social change.

After introducing the Business Model Canvas, we’ll delve deep into its application to social enterprise, and how this tool can be leveraged to design both the business model and impact model of your new venture. You’ll have the opportunity to work hands on with the canvas, surrounded by resources to support your process. You should expect to leave this workshop with a heightened understanding of what you’ll achieve with your business model, and how all the moving cogs of the business fit and work together to create sustainable social impact.

Session 2 – Market Research and Your Social Cause-February 22

You’re armed with a business idea, a desire to create impactful social change, and a drive to pursue these through social enterprise. Full speed ahead you set the wheels in motion. But, how do you know that this business will serve the social purpose you hope it will? How do you know that the business model is sustainable? The proof is in the research.

Join us for this workshop and we’ll introduce the tools available to validate your efforts in social enterprise. Leave with a stronger foundation of market research for your social enterprise, and a plan for how to continue your journey towards a deeper understanding of your business environment and your social impact.

Meredith Perich will be providing one-on-one coaching after each session on the following Friday.
